SmartyPants

One night while reading Evi her nightly books I remembered that Sesame Street Live was going to be in town for the weekend and every time Evi would see the commercial she'd wig out about wanting to go. I was going to be on a trip, leaving in the morning and wanted to mention to Scott before I forgot, so I decided to say it in piglatin. (we usually spell things out, but this was too long) Well, I say it and she removes her milk cup and says, "I want to see Dora too!" (Another commercial we see a lot about a Dora stage show that she also wigs out about.) So that turkey new exactly what I was talking about! So, I guess it's back to the spelling things out! What's funny about that is she thinks saying random letters is a normal part of conversation and will occasionally say letters when she's telling stories, like she knows what she's doing. It's hilarious.

We went to the Houston livestock show & rodeo and Evi loved every minute of it. She really liked the buckin' broncos and was very into to cowgirls barrell racing. We were up high with the fireworks, which was pretty neat. And she liked Clint Black. She kept asking if he would sing "itsy bitsy spider". The animals were pretty hungry and aggressive at the petting zoo. A few goats tried to eat her hat, plus she's was eye level with most of them. Now, the llama is whole different story...it seemed to feel a bond with me. Every time I turned around it was making eye contact with me and getting in my face. And boy did it have bad breath!
I finally was able to see Marni, who is about 3 months pregnant. As you can see from the pix, it's nothin' yet!!! Especially when she has me to help make her look smaller. Mali just had to get in on the pix too, but hopefully she's a good 10 years out!! (Or Better Be!) Marni says she wants to find out what sex her baby is, which I'm sad about, but understand. She too is scared to death of having a boy (a penis! what are you supposed to do with that!?!?!?!) and wants to prepare herself. I, on the other hand, have another reason why I don't want to find out....I am a procrastinator at heart, and not knowing is just one more reason for me not to do anything before the baby gets here. I'm just excited that Marni & I are finally at the same stage in life...married and knocked up!!
It seems my belly has definitely gotten bigger. While trying to adjust luggage in the overhead bins on this last trip I bumped 2 different people in the head. All I could say was "sorry, I seem to be sticking out a little more than normal!"

A conversation from when I called home from an overnight:
mommy: "Are you getting ready for bed?"
Evi: " Yes"
daddy:"She's lyin'"
Evi:"No, I'm a tiger!"

She asked her daddy for another soda while I was away
Daddy:"would mommy let you have another one?"
Evi:"no, but she's not here..."
(mommy said daddy needs to have his own rules...they just need to match mommy's!)

I told her to stop eating her pez until we arrived home and she had lunch. A little bit later I saw her chewing and asked if she was still eating her pez.
Evi: "yes"
mommy:"I told you not to"
Evi:"but I told myself yes"

Pregnancy makes my butt look flat....seriously. I have always been on good terms with my rear, but I guess the extra weight around my waist and back make it look like I have a flat butt. Of course I don't work out quite as much as I used to and of as always, with age, things have "fallen". oh well. I now also have a rash on my stomach and boobs. I had it with Evi as well. It basically looks like a sunburn, and it itches like none other. With Evi, my mom threatened to quit going in public with me if I couldn't stop scratching my boobies!! This time it is even acting like a sunburn though, the skin is peeling this morning...I don't remember this from last time.

Evi is all about "helping" these days. I realize it all about growing up and being independent, but sometimes it's annoying because I could do it all so much faster if she just didn't care. So we have now put a stool in the kitchen because you shouldn't even attempt to make her anything without her help. Or you will have one very upset child, with gigantic crocodile tears. These 2 pix are of her enjoying the fruits of her labor after she helped me make cupcakes.

Did I tell you she met another Evangeline at Disney this holiday. She was an adult and Scott and I had just happen to hear her mother say her name. So Evangeline met Evangeline.

According to her teacher Miss Stephanie, Evi is a popular girl at school. Everyone wants to sit with her. (but of course!) I was surprised and asked if she was bossy at school, because she sure is at home. She said no...which is good, Scott & I were worried.

We recently gave Evi her first piece of gum. She loves it! So now I have another easy source of bribery, plus it should help on the airplane. She's noticed her ears a lot lately and sometimes it scares her. So hopefully this will help keep them clear. She's pretty good at not swallowing it and chewing it for a long time. She also had some Snickers bar for the first time the other day and quite enjoyed it as well.
We went to the zoo the other day and Evi took her little stroller and a babydoll. It was pretty cute watching her pick up the baby and point out the animals. Or hide her face, because apparently, Flower( the baby's name) is afraid of snakes.
Evi on the other hand is afraid of every noise and darkness, which I know is part of the age, but it gets very tiresome sometimes.
